I have told you before: the creatures you thought were just mere myth walk in Ethecorra. They travel by the light of day and revel by the light of the moon. They shift under the cover of darkness and walk through the Veilspace. Sometimes they become nothing more than myth to the dominant species of Ethecorra; other times they become cautionary tales of the thing to fear above all else.
Allow me to introduce you to some of the people of Ethecorra.
Humens
Humens are the dominant species of Ethecorra. Their natural lifespan is somewhat similar to what you may be familiar with. They inhabit Montarvia, the Eastern Continent of the Northern Hemisphere. Their culture is defined by a deep, rigid control and their life is shaped by Numenism, their dominant faith, which dictates law, morality, governing body, and desire itself.
For humens, desire is sin at worst, suspect at best- and pleasure is restricted. They are denied the very beauty of the planet they call home and are taught that the very nature of who they are is to be repressed and denied.
Vampires
Vampires are in direct opposition to humens. I would say that their immortal lives are used to indulge and revel in desire and pleasure, but they are far more nuanced than that. Their dominant faith, Inmortuism, teaches that pleasure is sacred and sin is holy. They have answered the question of what power looks like when centuries are used to hone a craft.
Witches
Witches are humens that have a direct, ancestral link to the First Witch. They can tap into the innate magic of the Primordial Elementals and they respect the power that this magic holds. Once exiled and banished from Montarvia, they remain hunted to this day, especially if found wandering the cities in Montarvia; the ones ruled by the Council of Five.
There are more, of course. I cannot define an entire planet by three intelligent species; that is unfair to the remainder of those who traverse the seas and land.
